Helping Beleaguered Newspaper Professionals Transition to Business Ownership
It comes as no surprise to anyone in the newspaper industry that this is an increasingly difficult long-term career path. Consider the following from NiemanLab:

What do you do when the occupation you've held for most, or all of your career is no longer a viable long-term career path, and you have many working years left ahead of you?
Many newspaper professionals feel stuck and spend much of their time preparing for another consolidation, downsizing, and layoff knowing that the next gig is likely to end the same way, and their work life is now an unending series of starts and premature finishes.
You probably don't know where to go from here, right?
Despite how beaten up you likely feel right now, throughout your career you have cultivated an impressive business acumen that sets you up beautifully for more than just another short-term newspaper job.
You know how to lead a local business. You know how to build and lead exceptional teams. You've generated revenue, controlled expenses, and delivered on financial expectations. You are exactly the kind of candidate that outstanding franchises are looking for to become their next owner in your market.
I entered the newspaper industry in 1995 and over the next 24 years worked for seven different newspapers around the country. I endured three job losses between 2009 and 2019 due to position eliminations or leadership changes. In 2019 I decided enough was enough and retired from the industry at the age of 50 to begin building my own businesses. I know what you've been through and how you're feeling.
Today I am the founder and president of the award-winning Quantum Franchise Group. I lead a growing team of 13 franchise consultants around the country. We represent over 800 franchises across 37 different industries. Our role is to help aspiring entrepreneurs find, qualify for, fund, and be awarded local businesses with some of the best franchise systems in the country.
I Want To Help You Transition to Franchise Ownership
You've likely heard some scary statistics about the failure rate for new business startups. But franchising is the safest, most predictable path to business ownership, with a 90+% retention rate among the best brands.
Here's The Process We'll Go Through Together
Introduce Yourself
You'll begin the process by completing a brief intake form. You'll tell us who you are, where you're from, what kind of business you're thinking about, and a little about your financial position.
Entrepreneurial Assessment
We use a powerful science-based assessment to assist with researching the best franchise opportunities based on your competencies, values, sales approach, and company cultural fit. We want you to love your business!
Introduction Call
We'll schedule an introduction call that will take about 15 minutes. We'll get to know one another. Talk more in-depth about the kind of business you'd like to own. And we'll schedule our one-hour brand presentation via Zoom.
Brand Presentation
We'll meet for about an hour via Zoom for a high-level overview of 8 to 10 franchises. Ideally we'll reach the end of the meeting and you'll have seen one or more brands you'd like to be introduced to and positioned as a high-priority candidate with.
Due Diligence Coaching
Once you're a candidate with a franchisor, our role becomes that of a coach and advocate through the 6 to 12 week due diligence process. We'll prepare you and guide you through each step toward award day with resources and weekly strategy calls.
Funding & Legal Representation
As you progress through the due diligence process, we'll connect you with our funding expert and franchise attorney to ensure you are protected by the terms of the franchise agreement you'll be signing, and your business is funded appropriately.
Over 800 Brands In The Following Industries
When people think of franchising, they tend to think only of restaurants. The reality is, we work with hundreds of outstanding franchises in many different industries. If you've thought about owning a business, it's likely that we have great options for you to consider. Here are our favorite industries, with the average investment amount for each. Once you schedule your introduction call we'll send you the full list of 37 industries to review in preparation for the call.
